Arrrrgh! I'm stuck already...
Just wanted to share with you all a series of great IF-related comic strips I saw on userfriendly.org -- these five strips are meant to be read in order:
  1. Arrrrgh! I'm stuck already...
  2. I'm trying to open a window with a garden hose.
  3. What happens when it dies?
  4. Don't move! You might be eaten by a grue!
  5. What does a grue look like anyway?

Interactive Fiction Basement
The Z-machine is an imaginary computer, running adventure games that are intended to be completely portable to any kind of computer. This portability has been made possible by game developers' collective willingness to constrain maximum as well as minimum levels of performance. Kevin Bracey and Jason Penney have revised and published a Z-Machine Standard 1.1 Proposal that will likely be put to a vote shortly.

If this sounds interesting, you can get in on the discussion on the Z-machine mailing list. To subscribe send an e-mail to majordomo@gmd.de with "subscribe z-machine " (without the quotes) in the body of the message.
